Make your own SUMO in your island!
We will be posting our Animal Crossing SUMO items for 15days starting from May 24th!

Day 1
Wear this "KEIKO-MAWASHI" and train like sumo wrestlers!
* "KEIKO-MAWASHI"
SUMO belt used in training session, must be "SEKITORI"("JURYO" rank wresters or higher rank) to wear a white belt.
Day 2
Remodel landscape, create your own "DOHYO" SUMO Ring and fight like SUMO wrestlers!
Look out for Saharah, you might be able to get SUMO ring flooring from her!
* "DOHYO"
ring of SUMO wrestlers, made of soil.
Day 3
You must be taller than 167cm and heavier than 67kg to become "RIKISHI" in Grand SUMO.
We measure new disciples before the Grand Tournament to check if they are big enough to join the Grand SUMO.
* "RIKISHI"
Japanese word for SUMO wrestlers.
Day 4
SUMO-Font in "BANZUKE" is all hand-written by "GYOJI"!
* "GYOJI"
Judge on DOHYO, also in charge of other jobs such as writing "BANZUKE", arena announcement etc.
* "BANZUKE"
Ranking for RIKISHI. SUMO matches are selected based on this BANZUKE during the Grand Tournament.
Day 5
One of the dreams of young RIKISHI is to become "SEKI-TORI"!
"SEKI-TORI"s will perform honourable "DOHYO-IRI" ceremony with their "KESHO-MAWASHI".
* "SEKI-TORI"
"JURYO" and higher rank RIKISHIs are also called "SEKI-TORI". They are the elite group of RIKISHIs and must be treated with high respect.
* "DOHYO-IRI"
Japanese for DOHYO entering ceremony. Performed twice every day during the Grand tournament. YOKOZUNA has his own special "DOHYO-IRI" ceremony.
Day 6
Colourful flags rounding DOHYO are the advertisement of companies sponsoring the SUMO Grand Tournament!
Day 7
SUMO Association's beloved mascot "HIYONO-YAMA"!
You can meet him during the Grand Tournament days!
Day 8
"OYAKATA" with their SUMO Association uniform!
SUMO Association members will be wearing this uniform at their working hours!
* "OYAKATA"
Retired RIKISHIs working for the SUMO Association. They are master/teacher to other RIKISHIs.
Day 9
Many souvenir shops are opened during the Grand Tournament!
Purchase some SUMO souvenirs to remenber your special visit!
* "YOKOZUNA"
Top of all RIKISHIs, highest rank of BANZUKE.
72 RIKISHIs achieved the rank of YOKOZUNA in the history.
Day 10
If you want to be strong RIKISHI, you have to train more and eat more!
Eat more "CHANKO" soup and get bigger and stronger!
* "CHANKO" soup
Daily food of RIKISHI, often contains chicken meat and variety of vegetables.
Nutritionally balanced and very healthy.
* YOBI-DASHI"
They call out next RIKISHIs to DOHYO. They are also in charge of construction and maintenance of DOHYO.
Day 11
SUMO Museum in "KOKUGIKAN" holds many historical SUMO related items, some made more than 300 years ago.
Museum is opened to public on non-Grand tournament weekdays for free.
(You will need the Grand Tournament ticket to enter the museum during the Tournament days.)

Headquarter and main arena for SUMO in Ryogoku city, Japan.
Day 12
SUMO has long history. Sometimes it's good to look back in the old films.
Check out our film footage from 80 years ago!
Day 13
You can watch "BASHO-IRI" of RIKISHIs.
Cheer them up so that they can have a good match!
* "BASHO-IRI"
Japanese for "RIKISHI arriving arena from SUMO stable for his match".
* "NOBORI" Flag
Giant (5m40cm) flag hanging outside KOKUGIKAN during Grand Tournament days.
Decorated with RIKISHI, GYOJI or SUMO Stable name.
Day 14
The Grand Tournament is almost at the end.
Watch SUMO in KOKUGIKAN and feel the power of the SUMO wrestlers!
* "MASU-SEKI"or"SUMO BOX-SEAT"
SUMO's traditional audience seat. Sit on cushions and enjoy SUMO.
Capacity: 4 people (some have capacity for 6 people)
Day 15
The Tournament finished and we have a winner!
But don't head home yet, there is more to see before the day ends!

After Tournament
The Grand Tournament is over, but it's not the end of RIKISHI life!
RIKISHI will keep their best until they complete their "SUMO-DOU"!
