- This is the 8th time in history that 13 or more wins were achieved by two Ozeki in the previous tournament. (Table 1)

- Wakamotoharu returns to the Sekiwake rank he previously held in the May tournament of 2024. This marks his second consecutive tournament in the Sanyaku ranks.

- Daieisho remains Sekiwake for the second consecutive tournament. He stays in Sanyaku for four consecutive tournaments.
Komusubi ReturnAbi
- Abi returns to the rank of Komusubi for the first time since the March tournament of 2024. This also marks his return to the Sanyaku ranks after two tournaments.

- Wakatakakage returns to the rank of Komusubi for the first time since the May 2023 tournament.
Makuuchi DebutTamashoho
- Tamashoho is the first Rikishi from Kataonami Stable to make his Makuuch debut since Tamawashi in the September 2008 tournament, and the first since the current Shisho took over the stable.
- He is the 31st Rikishi from Mongolia to achieve this, following Onokatsu in the September 2024 tournament.
- At the age of 31 years, 9 months, and 17 days, he ranks 8th in the list of oldest Makuuchi debutants post-WWII. (Table 2)
- With 79 tournaments required for promotion, he holds the record for the slowest promotion among foreign-born Rikishi. (Table 3)

* There are seven Rikishi from Isegahama Stable ranked at Makuuchi division. Having seven Makuuchi Rikishi from the same stable happens for the first time since the September 2003 tournament, when Musashigawa Stable (Musashimaru, Musoyama, Miyabiyama, Buyuzan, Dejima, Kakizoe, and Wakanoyama) had seven Makuuchi Rikishi.
Juryo DebutHatsuyama
- Hatsuyama is the first Rikishi from Tamanoi Stable to be promoted to Juryo since Tohakuryu in the January 2021 tournament.
- He is the 54th Rikishi from Tokyo Prefecture to achieve this post-WWII, following Hitoshi, who was promoted in the November 2023 tournament.
- He is the 14th former student of Toyo University to achieve this, following Asanowaka, who was promoted in the November 2021 tournament.
